Seven injured in wreck on I-59 in Jones County

JONES CO, MS - Seven people were transported by ambulance to Forest General Hospital after a two-vehicle rollover accident on I-59 in Jones County at 7:37 p.m tonight.

 

 

Moselle Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident, which occurred near the 79 mile marker of I-59.  Upon arrival they found a Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck and an E350 Mercedes in the median of the highway.  Several of the seven occupants of the F-150 had been ejected from the vehicle. All seven occupants, including several children, (ages unknown), were transported to the hospital by EMServ Ambulance Service and AAA Ambulance Service with various injuries, which were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

 

The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured.

 

 

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

 

Also responding to the accident were Jones County Sheriff’s Department, Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna, Jones County Fire Service Emergency Medical Responder Coordinator Lee Garick, and Jones County Fire Service Chaplain Brother Drew Blanton.
