At United Way of Southeast Mississippi, we know that volunteers are the lifeblood of your organizations and we want to help make the process of recruiting, training and retaining volunteers a little easier for you. We are happy to announce that Volunteer Hattiesburg has become a part of United Way of Southeast Mississippi's organization. Volunteer Hattiesburg will serve as the volunteer "hub" for Forrest, Lamar and Perry counties.
Elizabeth Winton will serve as the Director of Volunteer Hattiesburg. Elizabeth is a recent graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.A. in Public Relations and minor(s) in Nonprofit Studies and Communications Studies. Through her four years at USM, she was a Luckyday Scholar and a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient. She was a member of the Dixie Darling dance team and a fitness instructor at the USM Payne Center. In spring of 2014, Elizabeth worked at United Way of Southeast Mississippi as the Marketing and Communications Intern.
Some of you have used Volunteer Hattiesburg in the past and are familiar with the Volunteer Solutions/Truist system that was used to help recruit volunteers. After much research and deliberation, Volunteer Hattiesburg and sister centers across the state of Mississippi have decided to go with a new volunteer match system, GiveGab. We think you will find this system easier to use.
We are excited about this transition and the possibilities it presents to us and to our nonprofit partners. GiveGab is a new and exciting endeavor and we are so pleased that you will be joining us for this adventure.
If you have any questions about the transition, GiveGab, or Volunteer Hattiesburg please do not hesitate to contact us at 601-545-7141.
