Community-Wide Disaster Drill
Hattiesburg - A community-wide disaster drill was held this morning at Turtle Creek Mall.
Medical and nursing students from USM and William Carey contributed by playing roles of victims.
The scenario was a big tornado hit the city and a tree fell down, causing a big tanker truck and a bus to collide.
The tanker contained chemicals, exposing the bus riders to toxic fumes.
Medical team units responded, treated, and transported the victims to Forrest General and Merit Health Wesley hospitals.
At the hospitals, there was a decontamination tent where crews performed the necessary treatment for the victims.
