Local preschool taking part in community service

November 11, 2015

Downtown Hattiesburg, MS - Main Street United Methodist Preschool formed a partnership with Edwards Street Fellowship Center.

The preschool class is learning community service and are encouraged to bring dog and cat food to support families who cannot feed their pets this holiday season.

From the start Edwards Streets' comittment is to help families with their pets until their lives are back on track and no longer need assistance.

Preschool Director, Betsy Alston says, " We feel like it is important to teach young children about community service. This is a good first step for young children, it is something they can actualy do. They can walk into preschool carrying a bag of dog or cat food and know they are actually giving it to a family that needs help feeding their pet."

The public is more than welcome to donate too at 712 North Main Street .
