Hattiesburg, Miss. - If you were driving near Oak Grove Rd. or Hardy St, you probably noticed a big cloud of smoke in the air.
Fire Chief, Kyle Hill said, "We got a call of an obstruction fire on Oak Grove at about 12:15 this afternoon. Arrived on scene to find the dentist office engulfed on the back porch made interior tact. The extinguish of fire was a success."
Northeast Lamar, Oak Grove, Central Lamar, and Hattiesburg Fire Department units were all on scene helping each other put out the fire.
Hill said, "The back deck and the back of the building was the main part of the fire and the inside of the building had caught fire probably about 25-30 percent."
After the fire was put out, Hill told me what fire fighters were going to do next.
Hill said, "Will continue just to secure the building and try to get content sent forward in the computers and then put out all the hot spots and will turn it over to the fire investigator at that point."
