Veterans Affair

Petal, Miss. - The Petal Civic Center was packed with veterans Wednesday morning.

Veterans were at the Civic Center for the GV Veterans Affair. Veterans had the opportunity to ask questions and check the status of their military claims and benefits.

V.A. director of Jackson, Darryl Brady said, "It's very important, because I think that our veteran's may not know exactly what it is that we do each and every day. And our goal is to serve them and do everything we can to resolve their issues, whether it's with compensation claims, whether it's healthcare issues, etc. It feels good when you can you know see so many veterans’ independent out here, looking for our assistance. That's what we're here for."

Brady said that they are trying to come to Petal quarterly in effort to try to reach every veteran in the area.
