JONES COUNTY, Miss - The Jones County Sheriff's Department had their annual 'Defensive Driver Training' course for law enforcement deputies.
The goal of the course is to teach deputies high stress vehicle training.
Major Jamie Tedford says, "Shuffle steering is where you actually shuffle the steering wheel back and forth. When we are in a pursuit and we are in a situation where we go into a call, we have a mic in our hand, we try to turn the wheel so the cord does not get tangled up."
Deputies drove in high speeds between impacted cones to train for high speed car chases.
