Laurel's Wayne Farms is under investigation

Laurel, Miss. - The Laurel facility of the sixth largest vertically integrated poultry producer in America, Wayne Farms is now under investigation.

The company known for its great chicken that has annual sales of more than $1.9 billion is now working with USDA.

On Tuesday, the Laurel facility temporarily stopped production during the beginning of the second shift, due to a foreign material on one of its lines.

Because Wayne Farms is working with USDA during the investigation, the company cannot provide any further comments until the investigation is complete.
