HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesbug City Council voted 4 to 1 to move forward to build the Hattiesburg Public Safety Complex. Council voted to pay $32 million with no interest.
The proposed construction would be at $25 million, however, during Monday's meeting the council did not anticipate the construction at $38.5 million dollars.
City Council President, Kim Bradley said, "We need this facility, do we need $38.5 million dollars of the facility, I do not think so."
He further added, "There is a number or an amount of money that we can spend that can accomplish everything that we need to, that is less than that $38.5 million dollars."
Bradley mentioned he wanted to move forward with the project because he supports the men and women in uniform.
