Hattiesburg Zoo celebrates National Tourism week


HATTIESBURG, Miss. - In honor of National Tourism week the Hattiesburg Zoo held a community day for the public. The $10 million increase in Hattiesburg tourism celebrates the first-ever 'Zoo-B-Que' for the community.

VisitHattiesburg reported it raised $268 million in tourism for 2015. Tourism supports more than 4,100 local jobs in Hattiesburg.

VisitHattiesburg, Mercey Livingston, said, "This event is for engaging the community in tourism week and just thanking everybody for contributions."

Guests were able to enjoy a free complimentary lunch with music by the Scott Chism and The Better Half. The organization will continue to celebrate this week.
