Hattiesburg clinic raises record breaking donation for ARC Southeast Miss.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - It's a record breaking year for the Rise and Shine Half-Marathon and 5K with the Hattiesburg Clinic.
Hattiesburg Clinic raised $29,000 for the ARC of Southeast Mississippi. It is the largest amount the race has raised for the ARC in the past 5 year history of the race.
The ARC is an organization dedicated to serving individuals in the Pine Belt living with physical and intellectual disabilities.
ARC's Executive Director, Cindy Pennington said, "We are dependent on our own internal fundraising efforts, but we depend on the community, and $29,000 is just a phenomenal gift for our organization and that will bring great things for the year to come."
The donation goes to support the ARC's Rise and Shine program which provides the organization participants with social and recreational opportunities.
Hattiesburg Clinic and ARC hope to break the $29,000 record next year in 2017.
