SCAR is excited for its inaugural "Brews for Bullies" event

LAUREL, Miss. -Southern Cross Animal Rescue is teaming up with Slowboat Brewery for a fundraiser that will help benefit the shelter.
Heather Williams, Southern Cross Animal Rescue president said, "We're having a "Brews for Bullies" event here at the Slowboat Brewery Company. The folks that run Slowboat have always been really great with us. We will have tours available for people that want to tour the brewery and sample the beer. There will be bullies available for adoption. There will be games for kids and adults."
Slowboat Brewery owner, Kenny Mann said, "The exciting part about this particular event is that we get to have it at our own place now. The events we've held in the past have been at other locations. They've been great. But here, we can really build on that and pull in all the community that we can and really take it to new heights this year."
The "Brews for Bullies" event takes place on June 12 from 12-6 p.m. at the Slowboat Brewery.
There will be live music, food, and special logo event glassware, as well as a raffle drawing which will include a couple of guns.
Gun raffle tickets will cost $10.
"Brews for Bullies” tickets costs $15 and all proceeds will go to SCAR’s vet bills.
