Local leaders held prayer vigil for Orlando victims
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Pastors from the Spectrum Center and University Baptist Church gathered at Joshua Generation Wednesday night for a special service.
People paid tribute and prayed for the victims and family members who have suffered from the Orlando Shooting.
Joshua Generation pastor, Brandiilyne Mangum-Dear said, "We're having a prayer vigil tonight for the victims of Orlando. Not only for the victims of Orlando, but for ourselves. We need a time to heal and a time to try and understand what's going on. So we're hoping to create a safe space where people can come in and say a prayer and maybe receive that healing."
"We're going to take up an offering for our sister church, Joy MCC in Orlando. They're on the ground there working and taking care of the victims and their families there in Orlando. So we're going to send some over to help them, said Dear."
Dear said they have collected $300 so far. If you want to help the Joy MCC Church and the victims of Orlando, you can click here.
