Jones co. trustee back in custody after walking off detail

Brandon J. Yates was apprehended by Ellisville Police just after 11:00AM, Friday, July 1, 2016. Jones County Sheriff's Department thanks the Laurel Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Powers Volunteer Fire & Rescue for their assistance.

Just after 9:00AM on Friday, July 1, 2016, Brandon Joe Yates, an inmate at the Jones County Adult Detention Center, jumped a fence at the Magnolia Center in Laurel, where he was working on a detail. Witnesses saw Yates heading across Don Curt Road. He is believed to have shed his inmate jumpsuit.
