Shots fired in Hub-City, one in critical condition

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Police department is searching for a suspect after a shooting Wednesday night that left one in critical condition.

The incident occurred on 557 William Carey Parkway at the Pine Haven apartments.

Lt. Jon Traxler said, "Upon arrival they (police) located a victim suffering from a gun shot wound."

"According to people on the scene, the victim heard a knock at the door and they opened the door, an unknown suspect fired a shot striking the victim" said Lt. Traxler. Police said the suspect fled the scene moments later.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.
