New business to open in Wayne co., creates 33 jobs

WAYNE COUNTY, Miss. - A plastic container manufacturer iMold Plastics is locating its operations in Waynesboro. The company is investing $4 million into the county and creating 33 jobs.

 

The company will local in a 50,000-square-foot build-to-suit facility being constructed in the new Meadowland Industrial Park.

 

iMold Plastics is the first to locate in the industrial park and will lease the facility from Wayne county.

 

Managing Director of iMold Plastics Manouch Ilkhani said, "I am grateful for the assistance we have received from the state, Wayne county and the city of Waynesboro."

 

Governor Phil Bryant said the 33 jobs will help the unemployment rate decrease in the private sector.

 

"It keeps people off of some type of government support, and a good job is the best social program that we can create here in the state of Mississippi" said Gov Bryant.

 

Ilkhani said Waynesboro is the perfect location, the main headquarters for iMold Plastics is located in Jackson, Alabama.

 

"Waynesboro is only like 60 miles from Jackson, Alabama, so that was very important for us and that is why we decided to come here" said Ilkhani.

 

 

The last time a company invested its business in Wayne county was 20 years ago. Board President Jerry Hutto said the community is excited for the new opportunity.

 

"It is going to help our community and hopefully once we get the walls up in the building, I hope it cases  domino affect in our Industrial Park, one business now, maybe 3 next year" Hutto said.

 

 

 

iMold Plastics expected to be in full operation by May 2017.
