Early morning fire destroys home

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - This is a press release from the Jones County Volunteer Fire Department.
At around 5AM on Saturday, units from Moselle, Union, Ovett and Johnson Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene of a fully involved house fire at 135 Moselle-Ovett Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the structure fully involved with flames and heavy smoke showing.
At around 5:20AM, a second alarm was made requesting additional units from South Jones and Southwest Jones to assist with water and manpower.
According to reports, there were five occupants in the home, four adults and one juvenile, that escaped safely before the fire got out of control. No injuries were reported.
The home is considered a total loss and is under investigation by Jones County Fire Investigator Scott Gable.
Firefighters were on scene for a couple of hours suppressing the flames and performing overhaul to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
