Failed inmate escape

JASPER COUNTY, Miss. - An escape plan for one inmate did not go very well Sunday.
Jasper County Sheriff, Randy Johnson said around 2 p.m., the department responded to a missing person.
Deputies found Michael Askew on the ground at the recreation yard via video surveillance. Johnson said Askew climbed up the jail's 12-foot fence, climbed onto the roof, and jumped off.
Askew ended up landing wrong.
Askew suffered a broken leg and is still in the hospital recovering.
