JONES COUNTY, Miss. - An illegal night club in Jones county left two people injured over Labor Day weekend and authorities are looking for some answers.

The night club is located in the Hebron community on Mason 727 Mason Creek Road.

Major Jamie Tedford with the Jones County Sheriff's Department said the incident happened at 2 a.m. on Sep 5.

"On the scene we had a female that was shot twice, and a male subject that was shot once in the arm. The female was shot on the arm and foot" said Major Tedford.

He added, "The victims are in stable condition as of right now."

This is not the first time the illegal night club, "Dunks", has caused trouble in the county. Major Tedford said the property is on private land.

"It would be no different from you having a party at your house, or a facility somewhere" said Major Tedford.

He added, "This is an illegal night club, where they have gatherings usually on Saturday and Sunday nights."

Deputies stepped up its presence in the Hebron community, officials are enforcing more raids and check points.

"I know there is a community concern out there, we hear those concerns, we are doing everything to combat the problem" Major Tedford said.

Major Tedford said no witness have come forward regarding the shooting, but they are encouraging anyone who has information to call the department and the phone call will be taken anonymously at (601) 425-3147.
