Three juveniles found with several handguns and drugs

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hattiesburg Police found multiple weapons and drugs in a parked car Monday.

 

Authorities said a vehicle with three juveniles was parked after hours at 1300 Country Club Rd., Vernon Dahmer Park.

 

HPD Spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said, "The officers got out of the vehicle to see why they were there and came into contact with several juveniles."

 

Police said during the investigation one of the officers located several handguns inside the vehicle as well as illegal drugs at which time the subjects were taken into custody. 

 

Lt. Traxler said, "The juveniles were taken to the Hattiesburg Police Department for further investigation."

 

Authorities added tt was learned that one of the handguns had been reported stolen to the University of Southern MS 2 days before from an auto burglary. 

 

The investigation also revealed the juveniles had committed other auto-burglaries too.
