Woman crashes truck into Canebrake entrance, investigation continues

LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. - A woman crashed a truck into the Canebrake entrance on Highway 98 Thursday afternoon.

Canebrake Security officials said they received the call at around 12 p.m. from the General Manager about the crash and rushed to the front entrance.

Lamar County Sergeant (Sgt.) Rickey Lee said, "Basically the subject was driving a utility truck and basically lost control of the vehicle."

Mississippi Highway Patrol was at the scene and directed traffic for almost 2 hours as officials were towing the truck.

Canebrake Security said they are fortunate no one was inside the entrance building at the time of the crash.

Sgt. Lee added, "The subject was transported to the hospital, and the rest is under investigation at this time.
