HATTIESBURG, Miss. - When it comes to the Southern Miss football team, the first thing many people may think of is quarterback, Nick Mullens.
But, the offensive line is what makes this offense move. Offensive lineman, Oliver Bates was asked one word to describe the o-line, and this is what he had to say.
"Smart. And I feel like that because we made a lot of adjustments throughout the week and a lot of adjustments from last year to this year, and we haven't skipped a beat yet," said Bates.
"Nick is an absolutely great leader. He's a vocal leader and he leads on the field, and that's what kind of pushes us more to want to play harder for him. We like to see his success as an individual and as a team," said Bates.
The Golden Eagles' next game is Saturday against Charlotte.
