Truck Rolls On Side, Several Injured


JONES COUNTY, Miss. - This is a press release from the Jones County Volunteer Fire Department.

A Ford F-150 rolled onto it's driver's side Saturday afternoon in the Sharon community, leaving five injured. At around 12:10PM, units from Sharon and Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene of the one vehicle rollover on North Hoy Road. When firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders arrived, they found the white pickup truck resting against a steep embankment with significant damage to its front-end, the entire driver's side and the rear-end, as well as damage to the windshield and back glass.

According to reports, four children and one female adult sustained what appeared to be minor to moderate injuries and were transported in two EMServ ambulances to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel for treatment.

The road was completely shut down during rescue operations, and one lane was opened during cleanup.

Emergency personnel on scene included Sharon and Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Departments, EMServ Ambulance Service, Jones County Sheriff's Department and Jones County Fire Public Information Officer Caleb Worrell.

Fire apparatus included Sharon Rescue and Shady Grove Rescue. Units also arrived in their personal vehicles.
