LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. - Lamar county precincts were packed even with the doors opening as early as 7 a.m.
Voters in Lamar county told FOX 23 they were happy Election Day is almost over.
Johnny Bass said, "I am ready for it, its been a long drug out thing and I am ready for it.”
Janette Tibbetts said although it is over, she things problems can still linger.
"I am not sure its going to be over, I think there is, you know, things hanging over one of the candidates head that may prolong this, I am, well as long as it takes to do what is right for the country" Tibbetts said.
She added, "I am an old woman, I have lived in Mississippi for 9 generations, and I have never been this concerned about the government and the way it is going.”
Another voter said the country will celebrate after tonight, “It finally will be over, and we will all celebrate, its been a long long grueling process, and we have learned so much about how the government has been run" said Jon Tibbetts.
Polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
