Zion Chapel AME, "Operation Zion"

November 14, 2016

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church had its 2nd annual Veterans Day program Sunday.

This was a chance to help honor and celebrate those who are alive and those who have passed.

Pastor, Ammie Davis said, "We had a time where there was reflection upon the Army. We had members speak on the historical perspective as it relates to the Marine Core, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Coast Guard."

Davis recently retired from the military on October 1, after serving in the Navy for 28 years.

Davis announced a call to order to her congregation in effort to unify the community.

"I'm always thinking about the families. I'm thinking about their loved ones and how we serve them here in the community. I just wanted to remind the community to reach out to the families that are left behind," said Davis.
