Christian Services falls short on canned foods for annual Thanksgiving lunch
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christian Services is short on canned foods for its annual Thanksgiving lunch for the less fortunate.
The organization typically serves around 2,000 people every year and Executive Director, Jim Prout said they need chicken broth and green beans to serve the community.
“It just seems the donations for those cans have not come in this year, and that is understandable" said Prout.
He added, "There is a lot of variables that may adjust, but we’re just looking for the community, to know that we need it, and step up like they always have."
Prout said he hopes the community can help continue their mission of serving the less fortunate especially for the holidays.
You can call Christian Services about donations (601) 582-5683 or walk-in to drop off donations.
