Public Service Commission sets hearing date for Arnold Line Water Association

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - On January 19, 2017 at 10 A.M. a hearing will take place in which representatives from Arnold Line Water Association (Association) will defend their legal position as to why they will not comply with the advised changes set out by the Public Service Commission (Commission) in November.

On November 2, the Commission opened a case regarding Arnold Line Water Association and issued the Association a letter advising changes to be made to their rules and regulations in order to comply with the Commission’s rules and Mississippi Code.

The Association has since refused to comply. A hearing will now take place in which the Association will have an opportunity to defend their legal position regarding the issue.

Commissioner Sam Britton said, " Arnold Line has had complaints that have been filed against them, and we have gone back and we have examined those and we found, that there are some things that Arnold Line needs to change."

He added, "Some of those are their by-laws, and what we are going to do is we ask them to change their by-laws, and some of the things in them, and they refused, what the purpose for the hearing is, is for Arnold Line, to come and tell us why they should not change their by-laws to comply with their rules.”

After the hearing, the matter will be taken into advisement prior to the drafting of a recommended order that will be submitted to the Commission for approval.

The hearing is open to the public and will take place at 10 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2017 in the Mississippi Public Service Commission Hearing Room, 1st floor, Woolfolk State Office Building in Jackson. (501 N West St, Jackson, MS 39201)
