HATTIESBURG, Miss. - It's 2017 now, which means many people are trying to improve themselves by making their own personal New Year's resolutions.
Usually around this time of the year, people have goals to try and get in better shape and eat healthier.
Co-owner of Revolution Fitness, John Micka said, "We usually see a little bit of an influx of new members around mid-December through mid-January. They say the average person lasts about six weeks. It'll be busy here for the next couple of weeks, and then we'll start falling off a little bit."
"We've had probably about anywhere from 25-40 people sign up in the last 1.5-2 weeks. I think they do too much at first and it overwhelms them. I think they get discouraged and it starts to drop off a little bit after that," said co-owner of Revolution Fitness, Amanda Micka.
Micka said people should set realistic goals and not try to overwork themselves, in order to not be that New Year's resolution statistic.
