Lady Eagles win their last 9 out of 10 games

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss beat North Texas Saturday by a score of 70-48, which gives the team its 20th win of the season.

Head coach, Joye Lee-McNelis said, "The two that sit on each side of me have been truly our one-two punch. It's happen defensively, it's happened offensively. And, they have put us on their backs, and they have carried us."

That one-two combo are guards, Brittanny Dinkins and Keri Jewett-Giles.

Giles was a woman on a mission, scoring 12 points and recording five steals.

"Just trying to generate some offense, get some transition buckets for our team through steals," said Giles.

McNelis said "I felt like in our recruiting process of Keri, that she had every opportunity to break steals records in her career here at Southern Miss, because she was truly an on-ball defensive player that can steal."

Dinkins scored 23 points and had two steals. And, she is just one of the reasons why this team is enjoying a six-game winning streak.

"Chemistry most definitely has molded us. It's like we know exactly each other's game. And, that's a big part of being successful,” said Dinkins.

The Lady Eagles will play La-Tech Friday on Senior Night where they are hoping to get another win.
