Hattiesburg Zoo Spring Break Adventure
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The following is a press release from the Hattiesburg Zoo.
The Hattiesburg Zoo is hosting Spring Break Adventure March 11- 12 and 14-19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Spring Break Adventure will offer attractions for all ages. Free daily activities include scavenger hunts, giant Jenga, cornhole, a giant parachute, hopscotch, jump rope, and animal encounters.
The Splash Pad will be open with limbo contests and beach balls for extra excitement each day. There will also be a “Flamingo Dance Party” under Flamingo Pavilion each day for children to dance to beach music.
A self-serve photo booth will be provided at no cost; however, if guests would like a printed picture taken by the Zoo’s staff, each picture will cost $5. All other established on-site attractions, such as train and carousel rides and the High Ropes Adventure Course, will be regularly priced.
“It’s gearing up to be a great ‘stay-cation’ for our locals and many others within a day’s drive. There will be activities all day, every day throughout the week of spring break. The Zoo staff is looking forward to guests joining us and experiencing a Zoo adventure unlike any other,” Demetric Kelly, business operations coordinator for Hattiesburg Zoo, said.
In addition to the Zoo’s Safari Grill established food and drink selections, Spring Break Adventure specific options will be available for purchase while supplies last. Drinks include Zoo Brees, strawberry daiquiris, margaritas, and piña colada snow cones, which can all be ordered with alcohol for guests over 21. Other food options will include churros, funnel cake fries, giant pretzels, and pulled pork nachos.
“We look forward to our spring break event every year to help us return to our regular hours after being on a winter schedule for a couple of months. Spring Break Adventure is for families and groups of friends alike who enjoy outdoor adventures,” Rick Taylor, executive director of the Hattiesburg Convention and Tourism Commissions, said.
Admission is $5, and children under 2 are free. Annual passes apply. Tickets can be purchased at the gate the day of the event.
