City council to address adding water lines

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Hattiesburg city council will address to add more water lines for fire protection at Palmers Crossing and Irene Chapel.

City Engineer Lamar Rutland said in that specific area the fire protection is 'undersized'.

Rutland said updating and adding additional water lines will benefit the surrounding area.

“Yeah we are looking to increase the existing pressure for the water logs out on the Palmers Crossing, Irene Chapel area, this will provide for better flow and water for the fire department and their need.”

Rutland said it will add extra water and fire safety for the residents and community.
