ELLISVILLE, Miss. - The Ellisville Library kicked-off Easter weekend with its annual Easter Egg Hunt Thursday.
Manager of Children Relations Michelle Jones said its the 15th year the library hosted the event.
Jones said the county wants to promote literacy any way they can, not only in Jones county, but across Mississippi.
“Well these community events, bring people into the library, and we have reading, we have a book, we are focusing on literacy, but in a fun way to draw the kids in.”
Hundreds of kids participated in the event. Jones said this is the first year the library passed out books for prizes.
