Golfers help raise money to support USM radio station

HATTIESBURG, MS. - Around 100 golfers participated in the 7th Annual Timberton-Southern Miss Golf Fundraiser.

Golfers teed-off Monday to support Southern Miss radio station, WUSM. The proceeds will provide Southern Miss students with up-to-date equipment.

The school said it wants its students to have a quality education experience and teaming up with organizations and businesses in the city is beneficial.

This year's Chairman Lewis Myrick Jr. said, "This tournament and the sponsors that give, and the players that play helps the radio station buy equipment that is modern and up-to-date so that when they graduate they will be ready.”

The golf tournament is Southern Miss' radio station largest event.
