HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss' Center for Economic and Entrepreneurship Education hosted its 10th annual Southern Entrepreneurship Program (SEP) State Business Plan Competition Wednesday.
This was an opportunity for 35 high school student finalists in South Mississippi to showcase business ideas to judges.
James Wilcox, Director of Center for Economic Entrepreneurship Education said, "This is one of the more inspirational jobs you can have where you see students in a lot of cases have a lack of resources; but they'll take something as small as a $10 idea and turn it into a $1,000 idea. And watching them do that year after year come back and compete and watch their ideas kind of scaffold has been a constant inspiration for me."
More than 500 students participate annually in the SEP.
