HPD holds fundraiser for Special Olympics

May 9, 2017

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Police Department is teaming up with Krispy Kreme's Saturday for the 5th annual Doughnuts with Cops event.

This event is to help raise money for Special Olympics.

Hattiesburg Police Officer, Lt. Jon Traxler said, "We love to partner with them. We love to work with Special Olympics. We've been doing the torch run for Special Olympics for probably 20 years or plus. We just ask everybody to come out and donate to us, and that way we can give back to those that are in need so they can go and enjoy a day for the Special Olympics and be able to enjoy life if you want to say."

The Hattiesburg Fire Department will be there as well as McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog and Sparky the Fire Prevention Dog.

The event will begin at 6 a.m.
