HPD arrests 2 connected to hotel-motel armed robberies

HATTIESBURG, MS. - A man and woman wanted for a string of motel-hotel armed robberies in Hattiesburg were both arrested Saturday night.

Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD) Spokeswoman LaTosha Myers Mitchell said Keisha Patton, 29, of Hattiesburg and Eric Magee, 25, of Columbia were arrested on the coast.

Mitchell said a citizen's tip help locate the two suspects. Mitchell said, "With the aid of the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, detectives apprehended Patton and Eric Magee. Magee and Patton were transported to the Hattiesburg Police Department where they were subsequently arrested."

Patton is charged with three counts of armed robbery. Magee is charged with three counts of accessory after the fact of armed robbery.

Patton's recent armed robbery was on June 15 at the Motel 6 said Mitchell.

Mitchell said the previous robberies occurred on May 28 at Hattiesburg's Hilton Inn and Sleep Inn & Suites.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
