Laurel woman charged with embezzlement

Jones County, Miss - On July 12, 2017, Jones County Sheriff’s Investigators were alerted to a possible embezzlement. The victim reported to investigators that one of his managers, Krista Duke, 25 of Laurel, embezzled in excess of $7,000 from two of his local businesses over the past several months.

The victim explained the process in which Duke had embezzled funds and other discrepancies. Several pieces of evidence were submitted to investigators. Duke was taken into custody on July 16, 2017 and transported to the Jones County Adult Detention Center. Judge Howell Beech set her bond at $5,000 and released her on her own recognizance.
