New clear bag policy for Southern Miss games
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Southern Miss (USM) has implemented a clear bag and golf cart policy for all of its athletic events.
Fans will have to bring in a clear plastic bag to games. No other bags will be allowed.
Three hours prior to the game, the university will be restricting golf cart access on campus.
USM Chief of Police, Bob Hopkins said, "This will hopefully help move along the check-in process. It should also eliminate some of the contraband that's been getting in. And it should keep people who are trying to sneak things in, not to bring those things, so that when we do see them that they're an inconvenience and have to go back to their vehicle or have to make other arrangements."
The new policies will take place on September 2 for the Kentucky vs. Southern Miss game.
