Jones Co. Inmate escapes work detail on Highway 533

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - A Jones County Inmate escaped a work detail this morning on Highway 553 Thursday morning.

Around 8am on Highway 533 20-year-old inmate, Travis Allen, walked off work detail. He was assigned to pick up trash and other debris along the road. Allen ran-away when he asked to relieve himself in a wooded area nearby his work area.

He was arrested back in May and charged with Burglary. This is an ongoing investigation and the Sheriff's department asks you to contact their office, to help catch Travis Allen at (601) 425-3147
