Local non-profit organization receives $20,000 to help homeless children and their mothers

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Lighthouse Rescue Mission received a $20,000 check Thursday from multiple banks.

The Lighthouse Rescue Mission focuses on helping homeless children and their mothers have a new pathway.

Executive director, Kenneth Thronson said, "We are just so thankful that they have partnered with us, and thought that we were worthy enough to partner with us. We just look forward to seeing the lives changed through this grant."

The money will go towards curriculum and staffing.

The banks responsible for this grant were the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, The First, A National Banking Association, and BancorpSouth.
