HS Game of the Week: Poplarville vs. Heidelberg

HEIDELBERG, Miss. - This week's Game of the Week features Heidelberg (3-1) and Poplarville (4-0).

The Oilers lost a close one back in Week 2 against Southeast Lauderdale, but have won two games in a row.

The Poplarville Hornets is a team that is no joke. And the Heidelberg Oilers have been preparing themselves all week for this matchup.

Head coach, Darius Dear said, "This Friday's battle is going to be won in the trenches. That 1st down battle is going to be pivotal. We preached it and harped on it all week. I think our guys should be ready to play, and I know they're going to be ready to play. It should be a fun matchup. Our thing over here is to get better every week and to be playing our best football heading into district play. A quality 4-A opponent. Arguably, if not the best 4-A team in the state of Mississippi. It's a great measuring stick. We look forward to the challenge and we look forward to a good battle from a very, very good football team."

This game will be played at Heidelberg High School Friday night.
