The only thing better than a homecoming game is winning one, and USM did just that!
USM won its homecoming in convincing fashion as they shut out UTEP 24-0. Head coach, Jay Hopson was pleased with his team's effort.
"I thought for the hole we played hard and got the W, and I was pleased with that." Hopson said. "Our players of the week offensively were Drake Dorbeck. Drake is a guy that came out, played really well up front on the offensive line. Our special teams player of the week, we had two there. You know, Justin Abston made a big special teams play on the punt, and then Tez Parks did a great job covering on punts, so kind of split those two. I want to say defensively we went Draper Riley."
USM will take on Louisiana Tech in a rivalry game this Saturday in Ruston, LA.
