Senator Roger Wicker visit Hattiesburg to discuss processes in White House

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker visited Hattiesburg Friday afternoon to discuss progress and setbacks in Washington D.C.

Wicker shared there are still processes underway to repeal the affordable care act.

“You know unfortunately we fell one vote short and we had the vice president there to break the tie, and we didn’t get it done. It was a blow to those of us who realized we need to repeal Obamacare and replace it with something that works. Obamacare is not working, these twenty percent increases per year in insurance premiums per year, it just cant work for American people," said Wicker

He said currently, the Republican administration is focused on passing tax reform before the end of the year.

“ I really do believe that we have the votes, to pass a very meaningful tax cuts. A very meaningful bill that will encourage job creating here in the United States. The council of economic advisors said if we do that, it would mean an average of four thousand dollars in the pockets of an average American family,"

The Senator stated the reduction of taxes will "free up job creation" that translates into economic growth -- that leads to better jobs and better wages and more take home pay.

He shared there will be a change and update for tax reform between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
