45 JCJC Students Receive PRVEPA Scholarships


HATTIESBURG, MISS - Forty-five students Jones County Junior College students received scholarships through the "Round Up for Education" program. The program is funded by the Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association, and it gives scholarships to members who are first semester Mississippi community/junior college students.

"Now in our fifth year, we're here for this occasion to make a special presentation here at JCJC," Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association, Manager of Member Services, Kurt Brautigam said. "Over the five years more than a thousand students attending Mississippi community colleges throughout the state have been receiving awards and we've given away nearly a million dollars... so its just been an amazing success and again we can not thank our members enough for their participation."

Jones County Junior College, president, Dr. Jesse Smith said the university is thankful for the opportunity the "Round Up for Education" program offers.
