United Way of Southeast Mississippi joins the global #GivingTuesday Movement

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - United​ ​Way​ ​of​ ​Southeast​ ​Mississippi​ ​(UWSEMS)​ ​has​ ​joined #GivingTuesday,​ ​a​ ​global​ ​day​ ​of​ ​giving​ ​that​ ​harnesses​ ​the​ ​collective​ ​power​ ​of​ ​individuals, communities​ ​and​ ​organizations​ ​to​ ​encourage​ ​philanthropy​ ​and​ ​to​ ​celebrate​ ​generosity worldwide.​ ​#GivingTuesday​ ​is​ ​held​ ​annually​ ​on​ ​the​ ​Tuesday​ ​after​ ​Thanksgiving​ ​and​ ​the​ ​widely recognized​ ​shopping​ ​events​ ​Black​ ​Friday​ ​and​ ​Cyber​ ​Monday.​ ​This​ ​year,​ ​Nov.​ ​28​ ​will​ ​kick​ ​off the​ ​holiday​ ​giving​ ​season​ ​and​ ​inspire​ ​people​ ​to​ ​collaborate​ ​in​ ​improving​ ​their​ ​local​ ​communities and​ ​to​ ​give​ ​back​ ​in​ ​impactful​ ​ways​ ​to​ ​the​ ​charities​ ​and​ ​causes​ ​they​ ​support.

By​ ​forging​ ​partnerships​ ​and​ ​mobilizing​ ​the​ ​best​ ​resources,​ ​United​ ​Way​ ​of​ ​Southeast​ ​Mississippi is​ ​finding​ ​solutions​ ​to​ ​our​ ​communities​ ​most​ ​daunting​ ​social​ ​crises.​ ​Our​ ​partner​ ​agencies​ ​and programs​ ​are​ ​improving​ ​the​ ​health,​ ​education​ ​and​ ​financial​ ​stability​ ​of​ ​those​ ​most​ ​in​ ​need​ ​of​ ​a helping​ ​hand.

When​ ​you​ ​participate​ ​in​ ​#GivingTuesday,​ ​you​ ​will​ ​be​ ​helping​ ​provide​ ​books​ ​to​ ​children,​ ​meals to​ ​the​ ​homebound​ ​and​ ​assist​ ​in​ ​creating​ ​accessible​ ​and​ ​sustainable​ ​housing.
