United Way of Southeast Mississippi joins the global #GivingTuesday Movement
This is a press release from United Way.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - United Way of Southeast Mississippi (UWSEMS) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, Nov. 28 will kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
By forging partnerships and mobilizing the best resources, United Way of Southeast Mississippi is finding solutions to our communities most daunting social crises. Our partner agencies and programs are improving the health, education and financial stability of those most in need of a helping hand.
When you participate in #GivingTuesday, you will be helping provide books to children, meals to the homebound and assist in creating accessible and sustainable housing.
“As a way to give back to our wonderful community, we hope you will join us on this global day of giving,” said Tracie Fowler, CEO of United Way of Southeast Mississippi.
