Hattiesburg Police Department raise over $1,000 from 'No Shave November'


HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Hattiesburg Police department announced their annual total from the 'No Shave November' contest this year on Monday.

Chief Anthony Parker said the department raised $1,225 from the contest. The money will go to their benefit fund to assist officers, families and other activities in the community.

However, the good news does not end there. Chief Parker also awarded six officers with certificates recognizing beard growth, social media campaign and more.

"I would also like that the young ladies, officers of the Hattiesburg police department for participating. We had several young females to participate. They got a gift card to get pampered for participating in No Shave November. So, everyone at the police department was involved in this and we thank all of them,” Parker explained.
