Waynesboro Weekend Shooting

HATTIESBURG, MISS. - A shooting took place over the weekend at a nightclub in Waynesboro called the People's Lounge Club.

The shooting happened late Friday night/early Saturday morning. It started with a fight that happened inside the club that got out of hand. Security broke up the fight and escorted everyone who was fighting outside the club, and that's when the shooting erupted. “During the shooting, there were several shooters involved and six people got shot, and one young lady was run over,” Waynesboro’s police chief, Holt Ross said. “The vehicle that was described to us was possibly a Dodge Challenger or a Dodge Charger. So, it had damage to the front of it and possibly damage to the windshield. She's in serious condition now… the people that were shot, we have two in critical condition but they are stable, and the other wounds that were received were serious wounds but not life-threatening.” Chief Ross encourages anyone with any information about the Dodge vehicle, or any other information about the shooting, in general, to please come forth.
