HATTIESBURG, MISS. - Ten more days until Christmas and a local organization couldn't be more excited. Christian Services is preparing for its annual “Birthday Party for Jesus,” which happens Saturday, Dec. 16 at noon. Christian Services encourages people to arrive early because there's limited space in the facility, and they're expecting about 500 people to show up.
The executive director of Christian Services, Jim Prout says the Birthday Party for Jesus is an opportunity to share the true reason for the season.
“We are getting ready for the Birthday Party for Jesus,” Prout said. “Each year we get really excited about this time of year. You got the hustle and bustle of Christmas going on. Everybody gots their own little path that they're running and doing, but we just want to take time and stop... and let the children and the community know that Jesus loves them, and we can have a good time celebrating his birthday."
The event takes place inside the Ben McNair Recreation Center.
