Senator, Chris McDaniel Could Make A Big Announcement Soon
HATTIESBURG, MISS. - There's been a lot talk about Mississippi’s state senator, Chris McDaniel, and whether he will make a run at the U.S. Senate. “Like most Mississippians, I see Washington as being broken, dysfunctional and we know why it's broken,” Senator McDaniel said. “It's being controlled by lobbyist. It's being controlled by insiders. It's being controlled by people that are pushing back against President Trump, and pushing back against the conservative agenda… Washington needs to be drained.” Senator McDaniel mentioned that Washington needs to drain the swamp in order for the United States to survive. However, he has not made a decision yet about whether he will run for a seat in the U.S. Senate. “We want to see people get up there and shake up the system. So yeah, that is on my mind,” Senator McDaniel said. “But the big decision for me is can I do it better in-state or D.C. In other words would it be best if I ran for Lieutenant Governor or something in Washington. So, I still haven't made the announcement.” However, Senator McDaniel wants the public to know that an announcement could be made as early by the being of 2018. “It'll be in January, ” Senator McDaniel said. However, 49 top conservative leaders and concerned citizens released an open letter to Senator McDaniel urging him to run for a seat in the U.S. Senate. “It's really a blessing that God has put us in a great position here to have good friends and supporters, and I am incredibly thankful for that,” McDaniel said. “They recognize Washington is broken and it has to be changed. Right now, if you take Senator Wicker, for example, he's wrong on almost every conceivable issue.” Senator Wicker is the U.S. Senator that McDaniel would challenge if he decided to run for the U.S. Senate. “I’m hoping everybody has a wakeup call. I'm hoping the country has a wakeup call because Washington D.C. has to be changed if we want to survive,” Senator McDaniel said. “We need to throw out the lobbyist. Throw out the people who are the insiders, and bring new fresh blood to the city... So that's my hope for Christmas. Now, if Santa can do that we'll be doing pretty well for ourselves.”
