ADP host Legislative Forum at USM
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A half of dozen of area legislators met this Monday at Southern Miss to discuss the possible benefits and disadvantages of a lottery, health care, infrastructure and gas taxes. Mississippi House District 102 Representative Missy McGee said she has kept the health community and other municipal issues in mind as she prepares for week two in Jackson.
“We gaveled in for the first day on last Tuesday. I learned a lot, last week I had a lot of help from my colleagues. The past was fast. I got my committee assignments on Friday, so now I know my specific areas of focus. I’m looking forward to getting back up to the capital for week two and continue to learn…hit the ground running. I want to be champion for the areas I know we have challenges in. I’m going to be mindful with watching issues in regards to public education and hope that we can make improvements on all those fronts for the people of district 102,” said Missy McGee.
Area officials will meet for another forum on Monday, March 5 to discuss a general clearing of outstanding matters before the legislature.
